The Appraisal District has become aware of a scam using phone calls to obtain your confidential and personal information. You may receive a live or automated phone call that appears to come from the Appraisal District asking you for information such as your social security number. The Appraisal District does not request personal information, social security numbers, financial information, account numbers, IDs, passwords, or sensitive information in an unsolicited manner through phone calls or emails. If you receive a phone call or message requesting such information that appears to be from the Appraisal District, it is not a legitimate communication.

Welcome to Hardin County Appraisal District!
Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district. Hardin County Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Hardin County. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
Hardin County Appraisal District is responsible for the fair market appraisal of properties within each of the following taxing entities. Additional responsibilities include change of address and public information requests. Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities.
Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.
Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
